What makes a bathroom renovation feel special? At

What makes a bathroom renovation feel special? At Saltwood, we believe it’s the little details. The design considerations from space and function to colours and ambiance - It’s the underfloor heating paired with heated towel rails for us cold Jane's, or the feature lighting and linen towels for those who treasure bathtime at the end of a long day.

Choosing a Saltwood bathroom reno means choosing to let go of overthinking and trusting the ridiculous amounts of research we've put into our designs, selections, our supply partners, our onsite processes and our handpicked homewares.

Not ready for a full bathroom renovation but want to feel inspired? Feel free to pop into our Showroom & Shop - we have plenty of cute timber stools, fresh towels or gifts that would bring a smile to any spa-loving friend.

Watching large format porcelain slabs go up in our

Watching large format porcelain slabs go up in our bathroom renovations always give us that excited-yet-tense feeling! At 1600 x 3200mm, these slabs are big.

This Royal Peacock slab by @infinitysurface were designed to capture the essence of a peacock's tail — hypnotic, romantic, and happened to be exactly the colours we needed to blend our Timberline green kitchen with our Squid Ink navy linen cabinet.

We get asked about the porcelain cladding in our showroom bathroom more than almost anything else, so here's some info:

Is it different to tiles?
Same material, bigger format. Full slabs instead of dozens of tiles — fewer joins, less grout, a seamless finish standard tile sizes can't give you.

How many grout lines?
As few as possible. One slab can cover an entire shower wall.

Is it hard to keep clean?
Nope. Porcelain is non-porous — no sealing, no staining, no soap scum. A wipe down does the job.

Does it crack or chip?
It's tough, dense, and built for wet areas. The skill is all in the install — getting a slab this size on your wall in one piece takes experience, teamwork and patience!

Is it expensive?
More than standard tiles yes — you're paying for the material and the specialist install. But you're investing in a bathroom that still looks crisp in decades to come and may even bring a smile to your face on cleaning day!

Lining boards and peg rails. We love simple detail

Lining boards and peg rails. We love simple detailing like lining boards or @jameshardieau VJ sheeting for adding texture and function to a space - whether a clean-lined Henry Lewis laundry or a classic May Warmley kitchen and mudroom.

Every detail at Saltwood starts on paper first. Full working drawings have been a game changer on our renovation projects - letting our clients and team see exactly how the space will come together before a single tool is picked up onsite.

Got questions about a new kitchen or looking for some bathroom inspiration? Come and explore what's possible at our Stawell Showroom.

There's a difference between getting a new kitchen

There's a difference between getting a new kitchen and having one designed to be the heart of your home.

At Saltwood Build, we believe a kitchen should tell a little part of your story - your personality, your lifestyle, the way you actually live. Not merely look new or be functional, but feel like it belongs to you and your home.

This sink run was designed for Pat's Place on @oakshamfarm as part of a full farmhouse renovation. The cabinets are from our May Warmley in-framed kitchen range, painted in Squid Ink by @porterspaints. We love how the depth of blue echoes the view outside and holds its own beside the original farmhouse fireplace.

This is what we mean when we say designed to belong.

"How far does Saltwood Build travel for projects?"

"How far does Saltwood Build travel for projects?"
Ask Ken... "We'll go anywhere if the price is right." 😏😍

Based in Stawell, near the Grampians, we pull so much design inspiration from our country life. The open blue skies, the pink morning glow, the off-white sheep... the colour palette for this hand-painted Kitchen with its Signature in-framing and Blush AGA Cooker.

After 17 years of servicing our lovely locals in Stawell, Halls Gap, Ararat and surrounds — with the odd projects in Daylesford, Port Fairy, Lilydale, Hawthorn East — we're excited to be spreading our wings and sharing our in-framed kitchens with the rest of Victoria, and honestly, anyone in Australia who's keen to nut out the logistics with us!

May Warmley, our classic Shaker range celebrates the craftsmanship of original in-framing – where every door and drawer sits nestled within a solid timber frame. If you have been searching for English-style Kitchens, check out May Warmley, our hand-painted timber range.

What the dickens is a local Building and Joinery b

What the dickens is a local Building and Joinery business doing hosting Chutney Making nights?!

Well, at Saltwood Build, our Kitchens aren’t for looking at… they’re for living in. So on Thursday 23 April (6–8pm), we welcomed Sean - Chef, gardener, and the hands behind Lana’s Garden - to work his magic on our Blush AGA and fill the Saltwood Build Showroom & Shop with the smell of simmering chutney and freshly baked sausage rolls. 😋

Thank you to everyone who made Thursday such a relaxed night out. Great photos @karl_meyer_photography 😍

We have plenty of @lanas_garden produce still available to purchase. We really appreciate all the support you showed Sean, as he and Davina seek to honour Lana’s legacy of crafting small-batch, natural rhubarb preserves and condiments. Say hi to them this weekend. @grampiansgrapeescape
