Use
Rugs are prone to wear and tear and can fade or discolour with direct sunlight exposure. To maintain their colour and quality, rotate them regularly and keep them in a fully covered environment, as Australia’s extreme UV can cause significant fading. The best way to keep your jute rug clean is to vacuum regularly (without a brush, in the weave’s direction) to prevent dirt buildup.

Care
For spills and spots, act quickly! Immediately treat any marks with warm water and blot dry using a clean cloth or paper towel. For stubborn odours, a sprinkle of baking soda left overnight can work wonders. When it comes to pet accidents, remove solids right away and blot up urine. A mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water, gently dabbed with a clean cloth, will help clean the area, followed by baking soda to absorb moisture and eliminate any lingering smell. It is normal for our handcrafted jute rugs to have occasional loose strands. Simply twist and push these fibres back into the rug’s base, and never pull them out to avoid damage. Initial shedding is to be expected, and you might even find a fine layer of dust underneath.
